Tree Stump Grinding or Tree Stump Removal – Which is Best?
Tree stump grinding is the first choice for many people, as it less intrusive than a full stump removal. There are many pros and cons for both when deciding which is the best option for you. Our highly knowledgeable team of tree surgeons are happy to discuss these options with you, and help you choose a plan to best meet your needs. Whichever you choose you can be certain that Tree Surgeons Sunderland will provide the best service available in the Northeast of England.
Tree Stump Grinding
The process of tree stump grinding involves the use of heavy duty machinery that will rip through the tree stump. We only use the most advanced tools available, which have been developed, and proven to deliver the most effective stump grinding. The tree stump will be grinded to a level below the ground, the depth will be dependent on your requirements. Stump grinding is a very effective way of removal, however, the roots will remain. These roots may take 10 to 15 years to naturally decay and disappear. For most people this causes no problems whatsoever, but is worth considering. We are very happy to advise if this is likely to be the most suitable option for you. A stump grinding service will produce a large amount of wood chips and sawdust, these can either be removed for you, or they can be used as mulch for your other plants.
Tree Stump Removal
In order to completely remove a tree stump, good old fashioned manual labour is often required. First we will dig around the tree stump to expose the major roots, which will then be cut through. Once the tree stump is exposed and free from the roots it can be prised free from the ground and removed. An alternative to this method is to use stump removal chemicals. The use of chemicals accelerate the rotting process of the stump, but can take many weeks! Once rotten, the stump can be burnt to completely remove all traces.
As with all tree care projects our team of tree surgeons in Sunderland will be happy to discuss, and advise which is likely to be the best option for you.
